How to Make Spagetti Sauce Recipes

If you don't know how to cook spagetti, Just bring your pot of water to a boil, and add spagetti. 8 to 10 minutes is what it usually takes. Stir it occasionally. Drain. Serve.

On this page are easy recipes to make your own Spagetti Sauce, beginning with my own recipe.

Nonstick Spagetti: Add a teaspoon of oil to the boiling water before you put your spagetti in, and the spagetti won't stick together.

Recipe Tip: If you don't have tomato paste, use 2 small cans of tomato sauce. Plus, I always make extra sauce to use for pizza.

Save Energy: If you would like to save on your energy bill. Heat the water until boiling, add your spagetti, bring back to boiling, stir, and turn the heat off. Leave on the burner, with the lid on, and your pasta will be fully cooked in 30 minutes.

Easy Spagetti Sauce

  • 1/2 lb hamburger
  • 1/2 chopped onion
  • Brown in skillet together and drain.
    Add:
  • 1 teaspoon powdered garlic (or 1 small crushed garlic clove)
  • 1 6 ounce can of tomato paste (Add 2 cans of water)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • Optional: 1 large can tomatoes

Mix altogether, Bring to a boil. Simmer 45 minutes

My Note: This is the recipe I use all the time. You can omit the hamburger easily, just saute the onion, or toss in a handful of thawed frozen meatballs. You can save leftover spagetti sauce for your chili or for a pizza, because they all have the same ingredients in them.

Eating Spagetti Squash

I just don't think this page would be complete without including a mention of Spagetti Squash. If you've never tried one you're missing a lot. Chances are, even if you don't like squash, you'll love eating a Spagetti Squash. It's a lot of fun to eat. You can bake it, add some butter and brown sugar, or even eat it with spagetti sauce.

Here's an easy recipe

Spagetti Squash

Preheat the oven to 400°
  • 1 spagetti squash
  • Spagetti Sauce or brown sugar and butter
  • salt and pepper (optional)

Cut your Spagetti Squash in half. Scrape out the seeds and strings the best you can. Lay the squash face down in a roasting pan. Add a little water. Cover with foil if you like. Bake for 1 hr.

Remove when done. Turn right side up on a plate or large bowl. Use your fork to scrape the sides. The spagetti runs the width of the squash, not the length. Eat it all up. You can also toast the seeds just like pumpkin seeds.

Toasted Seeds: Wash seeds and soak overnight in salt water. Pat dry. Spread thinly on cooky sheet and toast in a 250 oven for 2 - 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
